Studio 87 — Terms and Conditions

1. Reservation, Pricing, and General Policies

1.1. Reservation:

Studio reservations are made via email or phone. The studio is reserved for that artist/band based on the information provided during the reservation.

1.2. Minimum Duration:

A minimum of 3 hours must be reserved for the studio.

1.3. Billing / Start Time:

Session billing starts from the planned start time and ends with the studio exit time of all participants.

1.4. Overtime:

Overtime is billed in half-hour increments and calculated based on the applicable hourly rate.

2. Payment and Refund Policy

2.1. Deposit:

50% of the payment is collected at the time of reservation (when booking the space).

2.2. Unknown Session Duration Situation:

For example, if it's unclear whether a recording will take 3 or 5 hours, a 5-hour fee is charged, and the studio is reserved for that artist/band.

2.3. Refund for Sessions That Finish Earlier Than Planned:

If the session is completed earlier than planned, no refund is given as the studio was reserved for those hours.

2.4. Remaining Payment:

The remaining 50% is paid just before the artist/band receives their session files.

2.5. Payment Method:

The initial payment (50%) to reserve a spot in the studio is made via bank transfer, and the remaining payment (50%) is made by credit card, payable immediately before session files are delivered.

2.6. Retention of Session Files:

Session files are kept in Studio 87's system for 3 (three) calendar days after recording and then deleted. Until this period, artists/group members who experience any loss in their files can request their files again from Studio 87 via Google Drive. Studio 87 is not responsible for providing session folders after this period. It is the artist's/group's responsibility to store their session folders.

3. Cancellation / Rescheduling

Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be notified at least 48 hours before the planned start time. If the studio is cancelled within 48 hours of the planned start time (late cancellation), Studio 87 is not obligated to refund the reservation fee.

4. Pre-Recording Equipment List, Usage, and Responsibility Statement

4.1. Equipment List and Agreement:

A list of microphones and other equipment determined to be used is provided to you before the session. The recording musician/group and/or representative is obligated to sign the "Equipment Usage and No Damage Agreement" (contract) provided by the studio.

4.2. Compensation Obligation:

In case of any damage caused to any studio equipment, with the signed agreement, the musician(s) using the studio accept to pay full compensation at the current price of the official distributor in Türkiye, if available, for the equipment used.

4.3. Internationally Bought Equipment Damage:

If the equipment has no sales/distributor in Türkiye, in case of damage, the customer commits to pay twice the current international sales price in Turkish Lira to the studio (calculated at the current exchange rate at the time of damage).

4.4. Definition of Damage:

Any impact, dropping, and liquid contact is considered damage, and all mentioned costs are covered by the artist/group.

5. Damage to Furniture, Flooring, and Other Items

5.1. Furniture and Flooring Damage:

Any damage (even scratches) to non-equipment items such as flooring, furniture, etc., is subject to a 30,000 TL fine and must be paid immediately by the customer.

5.2. Vintage / Discontinued Equipment:

Penalty/compensation to be applied in case of damage to vintage/discontinued equipment in the studio that is no longer in production or difficult to obtain:

  • The customer agrees to pay whichever is higher: twice the current international (and good condition) second-hand sale price or the fixed minimum compensation of 50,000 TL for the determined damage.
  • Additionally, the studio may request restoration or special procurement costs; an independent assessment report may be requested when deemed necessary.

6. Theft, Loss, Media, and Storage

6.1. Responsibility:

The studio is not responsible for personal items, hard drives, sound recordings, or session files left in the studio. Customers are strongly advised to back up their data and take their files with them after the session.

6.2. Data Loss:

The studio does not accept responsibility for lost, damaged, or deleted files; however, in case of negligence, responsibility and resolution will be evaluated with the relevant parties.

7. Cleanliness, Smoking, and Pet Policy

7.1. Smoking Ban:

Smoking is prohibited inside the facility. If smoking is detected, a 50,000 TL fine will be applied for special cleaning of fabric walls.

7.2. Pets:

No pets (dogs, cats, etc.) are allowed in the studio — NO EXCEPTIONS. In case of violation of this rule, the studio has the right to request additional cleaning and disinfection costs along with damage compensation.

7.3. Extra Cleaning:

Extra cleaning fees will be charged if deemed necessary upon studio exit.

8. General Prohibitions and Security

8.1. Prohibited Items:

Firearms, open flames (candles, etc.), and dangerous materials are prohibited inside the facility.

8.2. Improper Use:

In cases of improper use of equipment or facility, disturbing noise in garden and lounge areas, etc., the studio reserves the right to discontinue the session; in such cases, refunds are at the studio's discretion.

8.3. Safe Use:

The studio has the final authority on the safe and proper use of the facility and equipment.

9. Minors

9.1. Age Limit:

Children under 18 years of age may only be present in the studio with their parent or legal guardian constantly present and signing the "Equipment Usage and No Damage Agreement" on their behalf.

10. Copyright and Recording Material

10.1. Copyright Declaration:

The customer declares that they own the copyrights to the material to be recorded or have obtained necessary permissions from the rights holder. The studio cannot be held responsible for copyright violations.

10.2. File Delivery:

Raw recording files (multi-track and session files/folder) or mix/master files delivered by the studio will not be released before all payments are completed.

11. Indemnification / Liability

11.1. Compensation Responsibility:

Everyone who uses the studio by making a reservation agrees to hold the studio harmless and compensate the studio for any damages, costs, lawsuits, and claims that may arise.

12. Applicable Law and Disputes

12.1. Jurisdiction:

This agreement is subject to the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Denizli courts have jurisdiction in any disputes that may arise between parties.

  • Minimum reservation: 3 hours.
  • 50% deposit at reservation, remaining balance paid before file delivery. Initial payment with bank transfer; final payment by credit card, payable immediately before session files are delivered.
  • Cancellations must be notified at least 48 hours in advance; otherwise, half of the total payment, which is the reservation fee, will not be refunded.
  • Signed agreement required for equipment damages; if no Turkish distributor, compensation is twice the international sale price (converted at the exchange rate at time of damage).
  • Minimum damage to furniture/flooring etc.: 30,000 TL per incident, payable immediately. For vintage equipment, minimum compensation is 50,000 TL or 2× international price of good condition second-hand product (whichever is higher).
